exhibition
Tamara Nouri

September – November 2006

Tamara Nouri's work, using mixed media on canvas and blending acrylic with muslin and cotton fabrics, offers her interpretation of the aphorism that man's only crime is to be born into this life.

Without specific geographical or political reference, Nouri reveals suffering as a universal state of man, exploring its contemporary contexts and conditions.

Anguish and resignation are exemplified in the human face, which are offset by material destruction and desolation, creating dramatic works that are as much running commentaries on her surroundings as expressions of more personal turmoil.
