Akram Zaatari

Lebanon 1966. Lives and works in Beirut.

Akram Zaatari’s video work, photographic installations, and publications excavate past landscapes and reorganise the finds in his own present narratives. He is the founding member of the Arab Image Foundation in Beirut, a non-profit association which aims to promote photography in the Middle East and North Africa by locating, collecting, and preserving the region’s photographic heritage. His work has been part of several exhibitions at Darat al Funun, including Art Now in Lebanon in 2008, curated by Andrée Sfeir-Semler.
