And The Fish Fly Above Our Heads
Film screening followed by a discussion with its director Dima Al Horr

Wednesday 16 September 2026 | 8:00 PM | Archaeological Site

And The Fish Fly Above Our Heads follows three men who share a particular connection to Beirut’s waterfront. Across lives marked by war, silence, and rupture, the film traces their relationship with the sea and with a city whose stories they have themselves been part of. In doing so, it forms an intimate portrait of Beirut as a place suspended in a continual state of waiting.

The film will be screened in Arabic with English subtitles.

This event is part of the "To Beirut" programme

To Beirut is a programme of two documentary films offering different ways of seeing and remembering the city. The first turns to Beirut’s relationship with the sea through the lives and stories of those drawn to its shoreline. The second looks back at the city through its visual archive, bringing together images from across its history to form a layered portrait of a city shaped by change and contradiction.
