In this readings and conversation session, Lobna Al Sana and Mais Fareed will read from and share selected moments from their artist book Guilted Earth, which is currently on view in the exhibition In That Same Hour. The session will open onto the process that led to the book, as well as the questions it raises around building, memory, ruin, and survival.

In Guilted Earth, Kawkab sets out to build a home on ruins she cannot remember, with money that no longer exists. Gathering fragments from across Palestine, she moves through a broken landscape where building becomes a search for ground, shelter, and sense.

Moving between reading, image, and discussion, the session will reflect on the making of the book and the reflections that it opens up to surround the very nature of what it means to build in moments of collapse.
