Darat al Funun will be hosting a two-day manifesto writing workshop led by Ghalya Saadawi. The workshop will explore manifestos (both historically and theoretically) as an urgent poetic form, political tool and form of writing, with a particular focus on avant-garde examples such as the Futurist, the Dadaist, as well as the Cannibalist manifesto.

Participants will read these and other manifestos (including excerpts from the manifesto Towards a Third Cinema, the Arab Surrealist manifesto, etc.) before proceeding to produce their own, independently or in groups.
