Darat al Funun is currently accepting applications for the Projects At The Lab 2023/24 program, exploring sonic arts, audio-musical experimentation, and the intersections between sound and visual arts.Creative professionals from various disciplines, including musicians, sound sculptors, sonic artists, visual artists, filmmakers, designers, architects, performers, curators, and anyone with a creative interest in sound art, are invited to submit proposals, which make use of our space for experimentation, exploration, and cultivating new ideas.

This program presents an opportunity to take creative risks, delve into evolving concepts throughout the residency at The Lab, and create site-specific interventions and moments. The program seeks projects that leverage the space to foster experimental collaborations and cross-disciplinary improvisations, with an emphasis on sound as the primary medium. If your project is selected, The Lab will be made available for you during the agreed-upon period, with access to available equipment and materials. Darat al Funun will provide support for production and (de)installation, following an agreed-upon final production plan, budget, and timeline. Darat al Funun will also assist in promoting your work through its social media platforms and website. Please note that Darat al Funun provides seed money to cover production costs (no additional fees will be covered).
