The film is a documentary about the hardship of people and particularly women in Egypt and their courage and resilience.
In Egypt, summer 2013, as a political regime falls and another rises, Nehmedo, Hanan, and other women, float between the dream of bettering their situation through temporary marriages with men from the gulf, and everyday life of poverty, discrimination and violence, in AlHawamdeya village in Giza, southwest Cairo. The film participated and exhibited in several international festivals in Europe, and Latin America.
The film is in Arabic with English subtitles. The film is not suitable for people under the age of 18.
Basel Ramses is an Egyptian director, born in Cairo in 1973, resides in Madrid, Spain, graduate of the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, and the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo. He has worked as a cinema teacher since 2003, mainly at Ondas Formation School, and currently at the International School of Cinema in Cuba.
