In his performance, artist Mohammad Tayyeb reflects on his 21 years of existence and how they have intersected with cultural and political events that have shaped the Arab region. His performance is based on an artistic and intellectual research, manifested through different media such as video, music, and poetry, and in collaboration with different artists.

"He who has no past has no present", says my aunt, expressing a saying, idea, or memory. It is indeed difficult for us to develop or evolve, in isolation from the events and transformations that surround us. Events from Tayyib’s 21 years of age have constituted rigid bodily identities on the one hand, and other events helped this identity break away from its shackles.

Mohammad Tayyeb is a performance artist who has written, directed and performed two theatrical pieces that were showcased in both Amman and Cairo: "Nothing Can Come of Nothing"; (2014) and "Awakening"; (2015). His work tackles identity, gender and the understanding of the self through one’s surroundings.
