workshop
Time Present and Time Past
Writing workshop facilitated by Bekriah Mawasi

10 – 31 January 2024 | Wednesdays 4:00-6:00pm
Deadline for applications: 29 December 2023

“Time present and time past,

Are both perhaps present in time future,

And time future contained in time past.”

T.S. Eliot, Four Quartets, Burnt Norton

This workshop is designed for anyone interested in practicing creative writing as part of a group, and in an interactive setting. How do we pay attention to the details around us? Where do we start? How do we familiarize readers with our text? and how to intertwine the personal with the social in a carefully crafted form of writing?

The workshop invites those interested to reflect on their daily lives at a moment in time when written language dominates communication. The workshop includes reading and analyzing critique and literary texts.

The workshop will be conducted in Arabic.

Bekriah Mawasi is a Palestinian writer, translator and artist. Her work includes nonfiction essays, short stories, poetry, illustrations, and photography. She is interested in visual culture and contemporary literature, and is an open knowledge enthusiast.
