Clare Davies is the assistant curator, Middle East North Africa and Turkey, at the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York since 2015. She received her doctorate at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. Her dissertation explores the production of figurative art in Egypt between 1908 and 1945. Davies publishes regularly in Bidoun and artforum.com.
