"Al Barakeh Wheat is a project that aims to reclaim local wheat as an essential part of Jordan’s food system and the idea of “Al-Barakeh” as a compass for thinking, building and being. The project reshapes people’s relationship with the city through wheat cultivation, inviting families and school students to take part in a collective effort of growing. The project also works on restructuring the current economic system for local wheat, by connecting small-scale farmers to alternative markets that are economically feasible."
In this talk, we learn more about the Al-Barakeh project journey and current challenges from its co-founders, Rabee’ Zureikat and Lama Khatieb, who will also talk about their participation in the exhibition.
The talk will be in Arabic.
