The open studio of the Countering Cartography project is the result of a research-based workshop blending theory, history, and art. Set out to unsettle and resettle geography, the workshop proposed critical reading of maps and conventional cartography, and explored articulations of alternative maps.
Over the course of three days, researchers Abdullah Bayari and Hanna Al-Taher will share the participants' contributions and artistic expressions regarding the meaning, implications, and impact of the map and their attempt to reshape cartographic knowledge through sounds, visuals, and written narratives.
