This workshop invites children to the artistic and technical aspects of developing stories and translating them into images. This interactive workshop focuses on skills that combine text and visuals, encouraging artistic expression, imagination, and creativity. 

Over the course of six weeks, the participating children will also be engaged in exercises on how to see, analyze, and interact with artworks. 

Applications are open to the age group from 10 to 13 years. 

Raed Ibrahim is a visual artist and art educator based in Amman, Jordan. He was born in 1971 in Saudi Arabia. He studied Drawing and Painting at the Lebanese University in Beirut, then obtained an MFA in Art for Public Spaces from EDHEA - Ecole de Design et haute école d'art, in Sierre, Switzerland. He participated in Darat al Funun's Summer Academy in 2000, 2001, and 2003, and in the artist-in-residence exchange program between Darat al Funun and ProHelvetia, in Aarau, Switzerland in 2009. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions and as part of a number of group shows, in Jordan and other countries. Raed exhibited several times at Darat al Funun, including A Camel in the Room in 2020. He currently teaches Fine Arts at the University of Jordan.

Sally Shalabi is a professional community based storyteller. She has been telling stories since 2005 extracting from the traditions of Bilad Al Sham. Her repertoire includes folktales, testimonies, oral histories, as well as contemporary stories. Sally has performed at various venues and festivals locally and internationally. She has received an award from the Shoman Foundation Grants Program for her project ‘Hikayat Shalabieh’ in 2019. In 2021 she received a research grant from AFAC for her project ‘Zaghareed’. She has published various audio pieces and written stories in Arabic and English. Sally is also a trainer, researcher, writer and translator.
