Gaza Sound Man, directed by Hossam Abu Dan, evokes sound as a witness to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The film offers a powerful audio-visual testimony to life and endurance, following a sound engineer as he documents Gaza’s daily soundscape, from the machinery of war and the suffering of the displaced to the laughter of children and the persistence of hope.
The film was edited in a refugee camp in Gaza at the beginning of this year.
The film is in Arabic with English subtitles.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with director Hossam Abu Dan, joined by sound engineer Mohammad Yaghi.
