In Khartoum, five Sudanese characters look back on the city they were forced to leave behind. Fleeing the ongoing war in Sudan, they recount their lives, losses, and memories through a deeply personal visual language that brings together reenactment, archival footage, and testimony.

The film moves between a volunteer caring for victims of conflict, a tea seller, two children collecting plastic, and a former civil servant. Their stories offer an intimate portrait of Sudan’s reality today and its people suspended between the violence of the present and the hope of return.

The film will be screened in Arabic, in the Sudanese dialect, with English subtitles. The screening will be followed by a conversation with the filmmakers.
