Using maps, objects from urban domestic life, and landmarks and histories of Beirut, Marwan Rechmaoui’s work deals with urban development, social history, and behavioural issues. In 2008, he participated in Art Now in Lebanon at Darat al Funun, curated by Andrée Sfeir-Semler. Rechmaoui was the recipient of the Bonnefantenmuseum Award for Contemporary Art (BACA).
