Elias Kurdy is a contemporary artist exploring history, culture, and memory through sculpting. Born and raised in Damascus, he moved to Marseille in 2012 due to the situation in his home country. His work reappropriates historical narratives and materials, blending fiction with history to question heritage and cultural preservation. Kurdy combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies such as 3D scanning and printing. His sculptures often employ trompe-l'œil effects, evoking lost time and forgotten histories. Through research-driven projects, Kurdy challenges fixed historical narratives and proposes new ways of engaging with the past.
