Hazem Harb is a visual artist whose practice maintains a sustained dialogue with his symbolically charged homeland. Moving from Gaza to Rome for his MFA at the European Institute of Design, and later to the UAE, he has learned to navigate life in liminal terrains. Recognizing that his origin is never simply a “land,” Harb engages geographies repeatedly carved and redrawn. His work functions as visual excavation, avoiding nostalgia in favor of critical reconstruction. Drawing on archival photographs, negatives, and maps, and employing precise, layered collage, he dismantles static narratives and forms new visual terrains that open alternative historical readings.
