A display of drawings produced by four artists in Gaza during the ongoing war. Created on found materials like lined notebooks and medicine packages, and using available resources such as pens, tea, and hibiscus, these expressions not only document the war but also serve as a testament to how these artists navigate both the personal and practical dimensions of the dire circumstances they are forced to endure. 

The drawings arrive at Darat al Funun as an extension of the relationship with these artists, which began two decades ago during the Summer Academies.

Since last October, Darat al Funun has intensified its focus on Palestine, particularly in light of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In our role as a home for Arab Arts and Artists, we see it as essential to continue advancing Palestinian cultural and artistic narratives in the face of ongoing attempts at erasure by Israeli settler colonialism. Our commitment remains to uphold, amplify and advance Palestinian artistic and cultural endeavours, ensuring they persist against the forces that seek to silence them.
