What does it mean to think amid moments of profound upheaval? And what does it mean to create art within such a rapidly shifting terrain?

This talk comes in conjunction with the exhibition In That Same Hour, where Raed Ibrahim’s latest work, Remnants That Continue, is currently on view. Drawing on the questions opened up by the exhibition, Raed reflects on the role of the artist and artwork in a landscape where life and meaning are continually unsettled. The talk also probes how art absorbs the pressures of the present, and how the gestures or decisions that shape an artwork might carry or respond to the weight of the moment.
