Jananne Al-Ani is an artist working with video, film and photography. Interested in the power of testimony and the documentary tradition, Al-Ani’s work engages with the landscape of the Arab world, its archaeology and its visual representation. In 2010, Al-Ani spent time in residence at Darat al Funun in the lead up to her solo exhibition, where she premiered the first part of The Aesthetics of Disappearance: A Land Without People, which was shot in the south of Jordan.
