Works by Adel Abidin
Born in Baghdad in 1973, living and working in Finland, multimedia artist Adel Abidin questions occidental images and stereotypes of the “East” within his works, often applying a rather humorous approach when dealing with themes such as marginalization, war, dispersion and life in exile. Concepts of cultural alienation and gender are recurrent subjects in his installations, videos and photographs.
