Eline van der Vlist

Artistic Director (2012-2021)

Eline van der Vlist is a curator and researcher based in London. She worked independently until 2012, when she joined the Darat al Funun team as the Artistic Director, she remained in this role until 2021. Her curatorial role covered exhibitions, publications, talks, and our fellowship and residency programs. In 2013, she assisted Adriano Pedrosa, curator of our 25th anniversary exhibition HIWAR | Conversations in Amman. She is co-editor of the book Arab Art Histories - The Khalid Shoman Collection (2013).

In 2014-15 she curated Rituals of Signs and Transitions (1975-1995) and Emily Jacir's first survey show, for which she edited the publication A star as far as the eye can see and as near as my eye is to me.
