Joe Namy is an American-born, London and Beirut-based artist, educator, and composer, who often works collaboratively across mediums—in sound, performance, sculpture, and video. Namy graduated with a master’s in fine arts from New York University, and has independently studied jazz, Arabic, and heavy metal drumming. In 2011, Namy took part in the inaugural Ashkal Alwan Home Workspace ISP in Beirut. Namy holds a monthly DJ residency Rhythm x Rhythm on Radio Alhara, is a Sundance/Time Studios Kendeda fellow, and a Ph.D. researcher at the Ruskin School of Art at the University of Oxford.
Namy was among the 2023 Darat al Funun Summer Academy Sonic Bricolages facilitators.
