Yto Barrada has developed a visual language that relies on photography, publications, film, and interventions in urban and exhibition spaces and that is embedded with deep political commitment. Barrada often uses Tangier and the Straits of Gibraltar as the sites of her inquiry, which is both artistic and documentary.
