In remembrance of Mahmoud Darwish, by 27 Palestinian artists

March 2009

“The shared space of this exhibition is home to a group of artists who have come from a large geographical area from all of Palestine. The Palestine that lived within the core of the poet Mahmoud Darwish. Despite the difficulty, we are here also in the presence of art works by artists from Palestine ’48. Their work pays tribute to a poet who represents us as one large family, a Palestinian family. Through their visual vocabulary these 27 artists are creating a dialogue not in order to translate Darwish’s work or to clarify it, as much as to present each artist’s particular homage to the poet and his poetry and to reflect on the void left by his absence.”
